Hunter Fan Co. Introduces a Vertical Unit Series to the Home Comfort Line

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (October 1, 2004) – Hunter Fan Co. introduces a line of space-saving vertical air purifiers as the latest addition in technology and innovation to the Hunter family of home comfort products. The vertical series includes the Ionizer+™ Permanent Filtration air purifier, QuietFlo® Ultra HEPA Ionizing air purifier and HEPAtech® Plus Ionizing air purifier. Inspired by the contoured shape of a tulip, Hunter’s vertical air purifiers require a minimal footprint and have an ergonomic control panel with an elegant amber NiteGlo™ display.

“The quality and performance of the new vertical air purifiers resemble a luxury automobile,” said Art Massey, vice president of Hunter’s Home Comfort division. “They offer true performance from zero to sixty.” The units are ultra quiet and combine the best in media filtration and ionization to achieve 99.97 percent air cleaning effectiveness, while reducing household odors 30 percent better than competitive units. Hunter’s vertical air purifier series releases clean purified air back into the room from the top of the unit to avoid stirring up settled particles and offers the industry’s highest performance per dollar value.

The Ionizer +™ Permanent Filtration air purifier (Model 30755) features a PermaLife ä allergen filter and an Advanced Activated Carbon Pre-Filter, which reduces cooking, tobacco and pet odors 30 percent better than competitive units. The permanent filtration system is designed to clean medium to large rooms with an allergen filter that can be cleaned and used time and time again, without significant loss of efficiency. The ionizing technology allows negative ions to be distributed throughout the room to enhance the cleaning process while refreshing the air.

The QuietFlo® Ultra HEPA Ionizing air purifier (Model 30735) features HEPA filtration and 30 percent better odor reduction. The high-performance filter captures 99.97 percent of airborne allergens that pass through the filter.

The HEPAtech® Plus Ionizing air purifier (Model 30715) is constructed with the permanently charged HEPAtech ® Electret Filter, effectively capturing 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.1 micron in size, and the famous whisper-quiet, 3-speed Hunter ® fan, which draws air into the unit without the noise associated with many competitive models.

The unique Hunter technology provides optimum certified air cleaning performance or Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR), the industry-standard rating system set by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). AHAM independently tests and certifies air purifier performance and effectiveness by measuring the amount of clean air that the unit delivers into a room. All reputable air purifier manufacturers display the AHAM certification seal on their packaging, which includes the unit’s CADR and suggested room size. CADR is the single most important piece of information needed to make a head-to-head comparison of an air cleaner’s performance.

The units initially will be sold in Lowe’s ® Home Improvement Warehouse stores across the nation, with a suggested retail price of $199 to $249, and are backed by a five-year limited warranty.
